I took her as a friend. Right from childhood, she had been with my family. Due to the condition of her parents, my dad had to step in by taking care of her school fees and other basic needs.
From primary, we made it to the university. Even after graduation, she still remained with us. After a while, I got a job and I rented my own apartment. Because of the love I have for her, I still carried her with me.
Just like in our childhood days, I kept sharing everything with her. She was like a sister to me which meant that I trusted her with all my heart.
But I was wrong. At that time, I had a man in my life. The relationship was very serious and he had already done the introduction. This was a man that I loved so much. He meant everything to me.
My friend was able to meander her way into my Man's life. Right under my roof, she was dating my man. He was not an ordinary friend. This is someone I have dated for four years. He had also visited my family and had done the introduction.
Before I could realize what was going on, he had changed his mind about our marriage. Next thing he did was to go to my friend's house to do the traditional wedding.
I cried and begged him not to do this to me. This was a relationship of four years. I really loved this man with my whole heart. And for the fact that he was seduced by a lady that I took as my sister made it more unbearable.
After the wedding, she left with my man and that was the last time I saw her. I tried to move on, but I couldn't.I lost the man I deeply love and I was betrayed by the girl I trusted the most, someone I shared my food with.
Few years later, Someone appeared in my house. She was outside the gate waiting for me to come out. At first, I thought it was a dream. She really had the guts to visit my home after the pain that he unleashed on me.
She knelt down in tears and grabbed my leg. She was pouring out tears from her eyes and gasping for air. For some years now in her marriage, she had not been able to conceive. She had consulted many doctors and medicine men. These experts had convinced her that she was healthy and okay, same with her husband. It was a mystery that she could not conceive despite being healthy and fine.
It took the help of the spiritual eyes to unravel the hidden. They told her that she could only conceive after she must have asked me for my forgiveness. This was the reason why after forsaking me for a long time now, she finally showed up at the door step with tears coming out of her eyes. She held my legs pleading for my forgiveness, but whenever I remembered how nice my family was towards her from childhood up to this stage, tears began to rush down my eyes.
It would have been better and more consoling if she had really repented. As she continued to plead with me, I realized that her husband was about to dump her for another girl. It was this desperation that compelled her to come back to me seeking for my forgiveness.
If that was not the case, she would not have come back to me for anything. She had the heart to betray me because of a man. But it's God that will judge.
I pushed her away on the first day that she visited. I didnt even allow her to cross the gate. But based on how critical her condition was, it's certain that she is going to come back again.
My heart still hurts. When I close my eyes, I see her with me, how we played together as children. My parents loved her so much because she was my childhood friend.
I keep waking up to nightmares that are scary and very disturbing.
I don't even know what to do.
