"The N8000 palliative proposed by the Nigerian president, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy might not be a fortune, however, he deserves commendation for giving thought to alleviating the suffering of the millions of Nigerians living in penury whose living condition has been worsened by the removal of fuel subsidy.
Those who see the sum proposed for the palliative as too meagre are not wrong. What is wrong is the grumbling it has sparked. True, the amount proposed is insignificant given the economic reality in the Nigerian clime, but since the intention behind it is noble, Nigerians should find a way to impress it upon Mr President to do better and he definitely will respond positively.
That will be a win-win for all."
