DID MICHEAL JACKSON HAVE VITILIGO?
Did MJ have vitiligo? Yes. Did he jump the gun with treatments? Yes. I watched a very interesting documentary about MJ and his ever changing appearance. It was said that the vitiligo spots were noticed around 1984, during the Thriller Era. MJ panicked. The doctors on the documentary all said that MJ inquired about aggressive treatment for the vitiligo, which is reverse pigmentation (bleaching).
They said the spots were very very mild, but since MJ was very very very sensitive about his appearance due to childhood mental abuse and trauma, he needed to rectify the situation as soon as he could. One can only imagine what he could have looked like If he didn’t use the aggressive treatments to reverse his pigmentation. But what makes the situation look iffy is that MJ tampered with his facial features as well, so he could look like a different person. So this is why people always said that he bleached himself to look like a white person… his features all became thinner, some almost non-existent.
I showed my middle school students pictures of MJ from the 70s and early 80s and some had no clue who he was (I was blown away btw! Lol) but they knew who he was in the 90s pictures. He looked like a different person. But what I noticed is that MJs body dysmorphia really started after he got burned filming the Pepsi Commercial.
Back then mental health wasn’t really a thing, but I believe that MJ suffered from a traumatic brain injury, amongst other diagnosis from his lack of childhood and abuse. MJ lived a somewhat normal adult life prior to Thriller and that Pepsi Commercial. I believe that if MJ received intensive, on-going mental health treatment after that Pepsi commercial, he would be alive today, and he wouldn’t have suffered from body dysmorphic disorder.
Michael is and always will be the GREATEST OF ALL TIME.
