Every December, Ghana hosts "The year of Return". Which is basically an invitation for blacks in the diaspora to experience Africa in Africa. Launched in 2007, The Year of Return has become popular among blacks in diaspora especially in America. The event draws even Hollywood celebrities.
2. Connection
Many blacks in diaspora trace their DNA to tribes in West African countries. So, when someone from Barbados wants to visit Africa, they are more likely to go to Ghana than a country in Southern Africa.
3. Stability
Ghana is one of the most stable and peaceful country in Africa. Visitors feel assured that their lives are safe. For this reason, Ghana stands out.
4. Language
Ghana is among the only 5 Anglophone countries in West Africa. Diaspora who don’t want to experience a language barrier, would prefer Ghana over a Francophone country.
5. Infrastructure
When people leave their country, they expect to experience something different but not something far from home. They would still want constant power and water supply. The good news is Ghana can offer all this.
