THE FLAWS IN PETER OBI'S CAMPAIGN
By: Obinna Aligwekwe
I am almost certain Peter Obi is aware of the flaws in his current campaign process but it bears repeating.
—————————
1. A Central Campaign Team:
There needs to be a SINGLE central campaign body, an entity that everybody can look up to for critical information and verification.
This will upend any mischief as confirmation or refutation of information will be very easy, and genuine mistakes atoned for.
This also makes it easy for those who wish to donate funds to do so without fear of being defrauded.

2. Other Volunteer Bodies:
That a single central campaign body exists, should not preclude volunteer bodies.
However, because of the intricacies of campaigning in Nigeria, the roles of these bodies should be spelt out in black and white to avoid any conflict of purpose.
Where needed, activities that are under grey areas should be vetted by the central committee.

3. Successful Models:
Campaign processes in other countries should be understudied, and where possible, concepts can be replicated, https://www.videosprofitnetwork.com/watch.xml?key=ee5a0ecbc3100c9e6de6446696f1ada7 and in other places, innovation carried out to suit our peculiar circumstances.

4. Anticipation of Voting Irregularities:
We know the powers that be are certified election riggers and vote buyers.
The weak points in our electoral system need to comprehensively understudied and counter measures developed in order to protect peoples’ votes.
To be honest, this is about the most important, as the raw passion on the streets if successfully expressed on the ballot, can only be doused by daylight electoral robbery which is not beyond the APC and PDP.

5. Security:
I have said it on several occasions that Peter Obi needs to put his security on priority.
I won’t place it beyond political buccaneers to attempt to hurt him once they see things are not going their way.
———————————-
6. Translators:
At this point, Peter Obi’s campaign message ought to be in at least 50 Nigerian languages, and in all Nigerian languages by October 1st.
Many Nigerians communicate better in their indigenous languages, and the language with which you communicate best, is the same language with which a message is likely to touch your conscience and higher reasoning.
Translators can also help in identifying practices that are culturally appropriate to avoid inadvertently hurting sensibilities.

7. A Strong Legal Team:
Very important to put out fires both from genuine incidents and mischief makers.
They also help the campaign team to navigate the laws in carrying out their activities.
————————————
If all these are in place soon enough, I have a strong feeling that all things being equal, if the choice of a running mate does not boomerang, Peter Obi may clinch the North Central, in addition to the South East and South South, and pull a good chunk of the Christian South West.
It is a three horse race, and while in previous two horse races one could win an election with four geo-political zones, this time, if the election is tight, even a victory in three regions will pose a significant threat.
But a lot of things have to be in place.
I will pin this post until it gets to the right ears.
