THE TRUTH: RUSSIA DID NOT INVADE UKRAINE
Contrary to western media propaganda, what is going on in the Russian/Ukranian corridor is not an invasion but an exacerbation of Russian/Ukrainian claims on the status of the Donbask region of Eastern Ukraine.
This is essentially a Russian speaking region and the citizens of this region have allied themselves with Russia, their eternal homeland. Ukraine however view the Russian population in this region as migrant settlers on Ukrainian soil, this is the dichotomy.
Russia wants a special status for this region, and the people of Donbask themselves dont want to be under Nato umbrella, which the government of Ukraine seems to be vigorously pursuing.
Matters went from bad to worse when the govt in Kiev attempted to ‘Ukrainise’ the region by changing road signs from Russian language to Ukranian and pursuing policy measures that seek to undermine the culture of their Russian population. What Russia wants to do is to rein in the Russian speaking part of Ukraine, and unite it with Russia, not to bring Ukraine or Ukrainians under its rule, the Soviet days are over.
