A WOMAN IS MORE THAN BREASTS AND BUMS.
Something has been bothering my mind for long now and I think I should just express my thoughts and pain. It seems these days the rate at which ladies wear clothes that expose their nudity is increasing at an alarming rate.
My work brings me regularly in contact with weddings and receptions etc. Have you all noticed that even at occasions, the kind of styles we ladies sow these days are quite outrageous? Sometimes I almost instinctively try to help carry some of the breasts that are about to fall out of the terribly low crops or totally transparent tops. You know those styles now.
What exactly is happening. I’m not body shaming here or trying to take away our rights as women, but I ask myself, why do we do these things?
To me, it’s like presenting ourselves as nothing but sex symbols, as if the totality of our value and identity is limited to nothing but breasts, thighs and bums, when we are not chickens. To me, it’s a sign of insecurity and lack of identity.
And unfortunately, it’s becoming so rampant and with so much boldness. It’s the order of the day.
I think we should curb these things and correct ourselves and present ourselves as the Queens that we are. We can be jaw dropping beautiful without going half naked and nude.
That’s why I’m joining this campaign of Fasobora. For the sake of posterity and the future of our children, I think we should present womanhood for what it is; Grace, strength, honor, value, beauty and every amazing thing in between.
TUSKY.
